Obituary of Donald Demetrius Burke

Donald Demetrius Burke was born May 20, 1982 to Albert Mel Burke Jr. & Bobby Ann Alford (Maiden Jordan) in Madison, Ga.
When Donald was 4, his mother remarried and relocated to Cobb County where he would attend Clay Elementary, Powder Springs Elementary, Tapp Middle School, & Paulding County High School.

He played little league football and would later play football in middle school. While growing up, he attended church at Powder Springs Church of God In Christ, where he would develop his own relationship with the Lord.

Donald Burke was a proud member of "LU72". In June of 2006, Donald joined the UA Plumbers, Pipefitters & HVACR Technicians Local Union 72, "LU72". Donald started as an apprentice, learning on the job, while he attended the Mechanical Trades Institute for 5 years. Donald graduated "MTI" in 2011 and became a Journeyman in January of 2012.

During the course of Donald's career as a Pipefitter and Welder, he obtained the following certifications to further his education and career opportunities: UA 12W; UA 14; UA 21; UA 25; UA 41; UA 63; UA 8A Obital; and UA 18A Obital.

While a member of "LU72" Donald worked with many people and touched many lives. During the course of his career, Donald worked with the following companies: Art Plumbing (June '06-June '09); Mechanical Concepts (June '09-Feb. '10); McKenney's Inc. (Feb. '10- Dec. '11); UA (Feb. '13- Feb. '13); UA Local 150 Augusta (March '13- March '13); Willis Mechanical (Oct. '13- Dec. '13); Willis Mechanical (Aug. '14- Oct. '15); (McAbee Construction (Oct. '15- Jan. '16); McKenney's (April '16- April '16); Batchelor & Kimball, Inc. (June '16- Dec. '18); Universal Piping Ind. (Dec. Donald "DB" Burke, as he is affectionately known by his siblings leaves to cherish his memory, his best friend, soulmate and spouse of 13 years, Heather Marie Guinn; his 2 children, Abigail Nichole Burke and Silas Ramir Burke; 2 bonus children, Kameela Halli Sanford and Imunn Rizo Sanford and bonus granddaughter, Elizah Imani Sanford; Sister, Anitra "Joy" Rogers (sp. Christopher); Brothers, Lecedric R. Jordan (Jerry), Albert M. Burke III (Breanne), Robert Daniel Burke (sp. Kristen); Father, Albert Mel Burke Jr. (sp. Tammy); Grandmother, Queenie Burke; Nephews, Christopher Jordan, Isaiah Defense, & Elijah Jacob Burke; Step father, Charles E. Alford & a host of Aunts, Uncles, friends & other family members. Donald was preceded in death by his Mother, Bobby Ann Jordan Alford.
