Jesse E. Rowe, 88, died at the home of his son, Thurman, in the Spring Hill community near Winona. Mr. Rowe was born in Wynne Parish, La., Dec. 23, 1851, and married Miss Katie Stafford.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Etha Lee Phillips and Mrs. Lillian Smith, both of Shaw; Mrs. Ruby Burleson, Drew; Mrs. Mattie Greenlee, Mathiston; three sons, John Edward and Allen T. of Eupora and R. H. of Lepanto, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Rudy Turner, Drew; and one brother, A. V. Rowe, of Redwood, also 29 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Church of God. Funeral services were held at Scotland church with the Rev. J. H. Webb of Eupora officiating. Interment was in Scotland cemetery.
