Funeral services for John W. Bartlett who passed away August 10th with a heart attack were held on Thursday afternoon, August 11th, at Scotland Baptist Church with the Rev. H. B. Vinson officiating Interment was the Scotland cemetery under the direction of Lee Funeral Home.
Serving as active pallbearers were Jack Batchelor, Herbert Baskin, Charles Branch, Joe Thomas and Barksdale Garner.
Mr. Bartlett who was 69 years of age, was a native of Montgomery county. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Baskin, Winona, and Mrs. Alice Branch of Greenville; and two brothers, Arch Bartlett of Ruleville and Claude Bartlett of Winona. His wife, the former Miss Lula Baskin, passed away in 1940.
