She was a devoted wife married to the late William "Bill" Leonard Simpson. Laura is survived by her two children, Deborah Simpson Williams, Dr. David Simpson and six grandchildren.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut she graduated from Pratt Institute and taught art to many young artists in New York and New Jersey. Her journey led her to attend and graduate from Colombia Bible College. There she met the love of her life, Bill. After marrying in 1962, they settled in Orlando. Laura taught art at Winter Park HS for over 15 years until she became a real estate agent for Century 21. Upon retiring, she and Bill traveled the country facilitating and teaching Bible clubs for young people with Campus Crusade.

Her art has won notable accolades through the years including being featured in the Winter Park Art Festival. Her devotion to the Lord was expressed often by scripture accompanying her paintings. Faith gave her strength through life's trials and peace as she passed to be with her Lord.
