Mark Alan "Papa" Ladd, a man of faith, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Friday, April 23, 2021. He was 63. Mark was born to Mark and Margie Ladd on June 4, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri.
After graduating from Van Horn High School Mark worked a variety of jobs until October 7, 1981 when he went to work for General Mills. He worked in several different Departments over the years but mostly in maintenance for over 38 years before retiring in November of 2019. When Mark wasn't hard at work, he enjoyed spending his time day trading, building computers and just being with his family. He was a quiet man with a witty sense of humor. Mark was the rock for his large blended family of 7 children. Anytime they needed him he was always present. Mark enjoyed sharing his knowledge of fixing pretty much anything when he had the chance. Life with Mark as a father was always fun. Whether they were traveling across state to be with family, having their yearly adventure at Worlds of Fun or simply playing kickball in the backyard, there were always memories to be made. He was a faithful member of Susquehanna Assembly of God Church. Mark was an amazing man with a heart of gold and will be missed dearly.
He is preceded in death by his father, Mark Ladd Jr.; mother, Margie Ladd and her loving companion Victor Lamano.
Mark is survived by his wife of 28 years, Nancy; children, Josh Ladd (Jesse McFerren), Christopher Patridge (Taylor Cowen), Shanna Kimmel, Nola Olsen (Steven), Bethany Wright (John), Amber Dorton (Matt) and Nancy Biston (Jeff); and grandchildren, Leighton, Avery, Alex, Marcus, Vincent, Daniel, Trey, Alaina, Marcus, Aubrielle, Phenyx, Caleb, Sarah, David, Tyler, Evelynn, William, Isaac and Cameron.
A visitation is scheduled from 9-11am on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Susquehanna Assembly of God in Independence, Missouri. Service will begin at 11am with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Memory Garden.
