SHERBURN: A Celebration of Life Service for Patricia "Pat" Hanson, 94, of Sherburn, Minnesota, will be held Monday, May 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Sherburn, Minnesota, with Pastor Steven D. Wilson, officiating. Burial will be in the Sherburn Cemetery, Sherburn, Minnesota.

Pat was called to her eternal rest on Sunday evening, April 25, 2021, at Temperance Lake Ridge, in Sherburn, Minnesota. A Public Visitation will be from 10:00 -11:00 a.m., Monday, May 3, 2021, at St, John's Lutheran Church, in Sherburn.

Pat was born to Carl and Clara (Krumholz) Grathwohl, on July 28, 1926, in Fairmont, MN. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1944, and was an active 4-H member, throughout her high school career. After high school, she went on to manage Koenig's Lunch Counter, located in the Woolworth's store – the largest restaurant in Fairmont, MN., at the time.

Pat was united in marriage to Ellwood (Woody) Hanson, on June 4th, 1953. Ten days into their marriage, the couple opened the "Cup 'N Saucer Café," in Sherburn, MN. In addition to a busy career, Pat and Woody, raised 5 children – Scott, Terri, Tim, Dan, and Dave.

After Woody's passing in 1981, Pat went on to be the sole owner-operator of 'the Cup,' until 2011. She employed several family members, as well as members of the community, that she considered family. She considered herself lucky to spend her mornings chatting with the "Ladies of the Round Table," drinking coffee – and celebrating thousands of milestones, catering Weddings, Birthdays, Retirements, and Celebrations of Life.

Pat dedicated her life to service – not only in food – but as an active member of the Legion Auxiliary, Sherburn C&C, and St. John's Lutheran Church.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Ellwood Hanson; parents, Carl and Clara Grathwohl; brothers: Marvin Grathwohl, Robert Grathwohl, James Grathwohl and two infant brothers.

Pat is survived by her sister, Phyllis Garrison; children: Scott (Kathy) Hanson of Sheboygan, WI., Terri (Randy) Stahn of Sherburn, MN., Tim (Darcy) Hanson of Champlin, MN., Dan Hanson of Sherburn, MN., and Dave (Ann) Hanson of Champlin, MN.; grandchildren: Sarah (Alex) Limon, Woody (Erica) Hanson, Miranda (Andrew) Stahn, Anna (David) Watson, Adam Hanson, Toni Hanson, McKenna Hanson and Jake Hanson. Great grand-children: Harrison Limon and Fredrik Watson; many other loved family members and friends.

Pat's family prefers memorials be made to Temperance Lake Ridge, in Sherburn, in memory of Pat.
