Barbara A. Butler, age 79, of Mount Vernon passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at her home.

She was born on July 29, 1941 in Mount Vernon to the late Ralph and Ruth (Fowler) Smith. Barbara was employed and retired from CES Credit Union as the Vice President of Finance with over 40 years of service. She was also the Treasurer of the Hopewell United Methodist Church which she was a life-long member. Barbara enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and was an avid Ohio State University sports fan. But most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Jessica (Adam) Hartney; her step-daughter Pamela (Jeffrey) Shafer; her step-sons Greg (Julie) Butler, Dave (Mary Beth) Butler; two grandchildren Isaac Hartney, Evelyn Hartney; her step-granddaughter Mattie Butler; her brother George Smith; her sisters Kathryn Smith and Sandra (Tom) Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband John Butler; and her Brother Ralph Smith.

Friends may call on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 10AM-11AM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will follow, beginning at 11AM, with Pastor Joe Beran officiating. Burial will take place in Hopewell Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Hopewell United Methodist Church and mailed to: 7051 Beckholt Rd., Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.
