OBITUARY: SGT THOMAS E SNOTHERLY
Funeral services for Staff Sgt. Thomas E. (Smiley) Snotherly, of Raleigh, will be conducted from the Mitchell Funeral Home chapel this afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. B. H. Single, pastor of the Adventist Christian Church. Burial will be in Montlawn.

Pallbearers will be W. E. Moore, J.R. Marshall, J.R. Dupree, W. E. McCoy, Joe Jordan, and Brooks Poole. Taps will be sounded at the graveside.

Sergeant Snotherly, who was wounded in action on Luzon Island in the Philippines on February 2, died Monday night in the McGuire [Veterans] Hospital, Richmond, Va. He was returned to the United States on May 4.

Surviving are his wife Mrs. Kathryne [Katherine] Faircloth Snotherly, and a son Thomas E Snotherly, Jr. of Raleigh; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Snotherly [Mary Emma Patterson and Henry Grady] of Raleigh: a sister, Mrs. Margaret Clark of Raleigh; five brothers, Robert Snotherly and Joseph Snotherly, both of Raleigh, Garland Snotherly, with the Army in Brazil, Allen Snotherly, with the Array in Germany, and William Snotherly, with the Army in Belgium.
