Elsie grew up in Warrington, Lancashire, England. After completing her education she went to work for Ryland's Wireworks in Warrington where she worked until she immigrated to America in fall of 1949 to marry her fiancé that she had met in Warrington after WWII.
Elsie married Elton Carol Brown on Sept. 26, 1949 in Frederick, Maryland. After they were married, they drove to Texas to begin their new life together. They were happily married for 65 years.
Elsie enjoyed crocheting and making afghans and doilies for her friends and family, as well gardening in her flower beds .
Elsie is survived by her daughter, Carol Brown; her son, Craig Brown(Cheryl) of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren, Joseph Brown(Erika) of San Francisco, California and Aaron Brown(Gina) of Seattle, Washington; great grandchild, Tempest Brown of Seattle, Washington and numerous nieces and nephews in the USA and in the UK.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Elton, her parents George and Eliza Roberts, her siblings, Maggie Roberts, Emily Roberts, John Roberts, Edith Holbrook, George Roberts, Charlie Roberts, Richard Roberts, Eva Povey, and Annie Williamson.
Special gratitude is expressed to Vitas Hospice for making her last few days of life comfortable and peaceful. Also, many thanks to Laura, Joann, Chaplain Jim and Chaplain Chris.
Due to COVID concerns, no funeral service will be held at this time.
Elsie requested that her ashes be taken back to Warrington.
