born April 26, 1947 and passed away April 22, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with Cancer.
He was the son of the late Harold A. and Norma E. (Townsend) Maxwell.
Mark attended Oakcrest High School and graduated from Dubuque University with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. He realized his heart belonged to Egg Harbor City and came back home to work as a Forensic Chemist for 42 years until his retirement from the NJ State Police Laboratory in Hammonton, NJ.
Mark served as the President of the Egg Harbor City Historical Society and was a member of the Atlantic County Roundtable. Mark also served as an Elder at St. John's UCC.
Mark was the proud recipient of the Egg Harbor City 2010 Citizen of the Year award. He spent his retirement indulging in his hobbies which included grave mapping through findagrave.com and as a VF-6 Historian.
There was nothing Mark liked better than an interesting conversation with a friend, old or new. Mark could have an engaging discussion with just about anyone. His loss leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him but we will treasure the memories and laughs we shared.
Mark is survived by his sister, Kathy A. Wilson and his beloved wife, Patricia A. Maxwell (O'Brien). He was a loving father to his two sons and their families, Mark W. Maxwell Jr., (wife, Lauren Sperber and their children, Calvin X. and Parker R.) and James R. Maxwell (wife, Laura (Stites) Maxwell).
