"Ernest, an old time Cornish miner, died of flu and lung complications at the San Juan Hospital. He had lived ion the district about 22 years and was well known throughout the San Juan. For many years he was associated with the Miners Union and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, was active in every movement of importance in the town, and was looked upon as a very prominent citizen. At the time of his death he was president of the local Miners Union.
He was born in Redruth, Cornwall [England], ... Survivors include his wife, Lidia, in Cornwall, and his family (not named). Ernest was buried at Hillside October 30, 1918."
