William was the beloved husband of Patricia Anne Neville (nee Jacobs) for almost 59 years and loving father of Carolyn Anne Neville (Christian) and Steven Paul Neville. He was a beloved grandfather of Christine Kardiasmenos (John), AngelMay and Jessica Neville. He was a great grandfather to Wyatt Michael Kardiasmenos. He is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Messick (Walter) and Theresa Zeitler. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Bill served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1956 in Norfolk, Va. After his discharge he got a job with Hochschild Kohn in the upholstery shop as an apprentice. He was extremely talented with his hands and later used his talents as a side job. In 1962, Bill went to work for the Sealtest Dairy as a milkman and enjoyed the delivery service. In 1968, Hochschild's called him back to cut slipcovers – he stayed on until the shop closed in 1977. In 1977, he was hired by Bon Secours Hospital as a Security Officer and stayed there until he retired. It was working for the hospital that he found his niche. In 1992, Bill received the Kindly Care Award for demonstrating the spirit of Bon Secours and its Values. On June 25, 1993, Bill received a Meritorious Award from the Maryland Association of Hospital Security and Safety Directors for redirecting a school class and teacher through the hospital grounds during an FBI sting.
He was a 3rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Orioles and Ravens Fan and looked forward to each season and opportunity to go to the games. His favorite hobby was his train garden which he decorated for each season of the year.
Family members and friends will honor Bill's life with a viewing on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at St. Joseph's Monastery, 3801 Old Frederick Road, Baltimore, MD 21229, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM where a mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00AM.
