In 1997, he pleaded guilty to manslaughter for killing Andre "Angel" Melendez on March 17th, that same year. Alig admitted that he and co-defendant Robert "Freeze" Riggs killed Melendez, cut the body up and dumped the parts in the Hudson River. The story was turned into the 2003 movie 'Party Monster,' in which Alig was played by Macaulay Culkin. Alig, who was paroled in 2014, was found dead after a night of using heroin.
