Howard Douglas (Tex) Davis, 91 , went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 23, 2021. He was born on May 11, 1929, in Webberville, Texas. He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, a self-employed auto mechanic and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

His survivors include his wife, Remonia Davis; son, Howard (Carl) Davis and his wife, Bonnie Davis; his daughter, Marsha Massie and her husband, Scott Massie; as well as three grandchildren, Kelly (Frady) Morley, Robin (Edward) Wheeler, and Brad (Samantha) Massie; and his great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Jean Berry and Joyce Sneider, both of Texas.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston with the Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Baptist Church Cemetery in Roseland. The family suggests that those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.

All Covid-19 restrictions will be observed and face coverings and social distancing are required. Arrangements are under the direction of Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel, Lovingston (434-263-4097).
