Johnny Dakota "Cody" Edwards, 25, of King, passed away unexpectedly on April 14, 2021.

Born August 10, 1995, in Forsyth County, NC, he was the son of Tabitha A. Edwards Mabe.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother; his stepfather, Elliot Mabe; a son, Johnny Dakota "J.D." Edwards; a daughter, Kya Elizabeth Edwards; a sister, McKenzie Mabe; grandmothers: Hope Edwards and Peggy Lester; aunt and uncles: Melissa and Brent Hartwig, Victor Allen; cousins: Justin and Ryan Hartwig; his girlfriend and mother of his children, Kelsey Hodge; and his best buddies: Cody Crews, Josh Allen, and Cory Sutphin.

A fun-loving young man, full of life and ready for adventure, Cody loved being in the great outdoors. Hanging out with friends fishing, tubing, and riding four-wheelers were favorite pastimes. This big man had a big heart and laugh and will be missed deeply by his family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Cox-Needham Funeral Home on Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 PM.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 2:00 at King Memorial Park. The Rev. Randy Cook will be officiating.

The family asks that all attendees please wear masks and practice social distancing. If not feeling well or running a fever, please refrain from attending.
