Kenneth D. Daugherty, 70, of Gilpin Township, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born Dec. 2, 1943, in Apollo, he was a son of the late William H. and Stella Irene (Covert) Daugherty.

He was a truck driver for E.C.M. Transport in New Kensington for 20 years, retiring in 2009. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam era from 1966-1970. He loved working in his woodshop, fishing with his son, going to camp, and spending time with his granddaughter, Vanessa.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lynda (Ulisky) Daugherty; son, Patrick Daugherty (Audrey); grandchildren, Vanessa Daugherty and Alivia, Alexis and Drake; brothers, Richard Daugherty (Joanne) and Lee Daugherty (Carrie) and sister, Melinda Young.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jacob Daugherty Sr., Roy Daugherty, Delbert Daugherty and James Daugherty; and granddaughter, Taylor Marie Daugherty, on April 9, 2000.
