Jane E. Woods, 87, of Liverpool, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021. Jane was a long time resident of the Village of Liverpool. She was a graduate of Cortland Teachers College. She started her teaching career for the Onondaga Central School District. She then went on to teach in the Liverpool Central School District. She taught for over 40 years at several schools throughout the district then retiring in 1996 from Longbranch Road Elementary. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Liverpool, a longtime volunteer at the Beaver Lake Nature Center, Member of the Liverpool Community Chorus and the Liverpool House & Garden Club. She had a great love for knitting and teaching the art of knitting. She loved to spend time with her loving family. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert F. Woods who died in 2013 and by her parents George & Henrietta Engstler. Surviving to cherish her memory are sons, Peter of Rochester, NY, Timothy of Liverpool and Mark of Central Square. Calling hours will be held 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St. Liverpool. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Liverpool Village Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Friends of Beaver Lake, 8477 E. Mudlake Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
