Howard Noel Beavin was born February 1st, 1939 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Elizabeth (Flemming) and Paul Joseph Beavin. He passed away Saturday, April 24th, 2021 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 23 days.

Howard, known to many by "Pudge", grew up in Cheyenne where he attended school. After his 10th grade year he enlisted in the United States Army. He remained in the Army for 6 months until he decided it just wasn't for him and he was discharged. He returned back to Cheyenne and later enlisted in the Army National Guard. When Pudge turned 18, on February 1st, 1957 he was married to Joyce Ellen (Wright) at Sayre, Oklahoma. Together they made their home in Cheyenne where they raised their family. As their family grew Pudge worked for the railroad, Paul Beavin dry goods store and filling station. Most of his working life he spent in the oil field working his way up from a roughneck to rig manager. Throughout his time in the oil field he was an inventor and with his teaching abilities helped launch many successful careers into the oil field. After his retirement from the oil patch, Pudge finished his working career working for Roger Mills County driving trucks for 10 years. After retirement his inventor spirit spawned the invention of the "crock caddy" that he and Joyce sold throughout the country. He also enjoyed building picture frames, gardening, wood working, watching movies and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Austin Beavin; 1 sister, Paula Johnson and one great granddaughter, Madison Beavin.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce, of the home; 3 sons, Craig Beavin and wife, Lavonda, Cheyenne, OK, Jimmy Beavin and wife, Debbie, Cheyenne, OK and Jerry Beavin and wife, Nancy, Corpus Christi, TX; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Jerry Beavin and wife, Marti, Oklahoma City, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Cheyenne United Methodist Church officiated by Alex Costea and Jessie Beavin. Burial will immediately follow at Silent Home Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West.
