Elizabeth Jane "Bette" Tomlinson of Warminster, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Ann's Choice retirement community. She was 83 years old. Bette was born October 31, 1930 in Abington, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Richard Otto Blandau and the late Mary Blandau (nee - Peterson). She is the beloved wife of the late R. Wayne Tomlinson; mother of Stephen W. Tomlinson and his wife Linda and Susan J. Peiffer; grandmother of Lauren and Nicole Peiffer; sister of John Blandau and his wife Martie, late Dorothy Hume and her husband Raymond, the late Richard Blandau and his wife Sandra, and the late Howard "Bud" Blandau.

Bette was born in Abington and raised in Ardsley, Pennsylvania. She attended the Ardsley Elementary School before moving with her sister to Alberta, Canada where she completed high school at the Prairie Bible Institute. After returning to the Philadelphia area Bette took classes at Kings College and Kutztown University before joining the workforce. She worked as a secretary for a variety of companies including: Philadelphia Electric Company, SPS Technologies and Lehigh Baptist Church. She was also worked in retail sales for Woolworth's, Rite-Aid and John Wanamaker. She met and married R. Wayne Tomlinson, an architect for the City of Philadelphia, after which she spent much of her time raising her family but also worked part time. In her free time, Bette enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, writing poetry, following the Philadelphia Phillies, and spending summers in Ocean City, NJ. She also volunteered for the Philadelphia Bible Society and conducted a weekly Bible Study for nursing home residents at Ann's Choice. Bette's favorite pastime was spending time with her family; especially her granddaughters.

Relatives and friends were invited to her memorial service on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Calvary Chapel Central Bucks, 150 East Butler Avenue, Chalfont, PA 18914 calvarycentralbucks.org. A reception followed the service in the church cafe.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. John Hessler and Rev. Chris Bonner from Calvary Chapel Central Bucks.
