Sandra Kay "Sandy" Kellay, age 71, passed away on April 20, 2021. Sandy was born on March 26, 1950 in Battle Creek, to Kenneth Freeland and Muriel Rowden. Sandy was a 1968 graduate of Delton-Kellogg High School. On April 11, 1970 Sandy married Kenneth Kellay and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1981. She worked as a central services supervisor at Pennock Hospital for over thirty years. While employed at Pennock, she was past president and served on the board of Michigan Society for Healthcare Central Service for many years. Sandy was an active member of Country Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a sister of joy, choir and lady circle member, and helped start the pork and dressing dinners. She enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, scrapbooking, gardening, and a nice cup of tea. Sandy is survived by her son, Gary (Jenny) Kellay, granddaughter, Samantha Kellay, siblings: Dennis (Barbara) Freeland, Chuck McCarty Jr., Marlene Francis, and Alan (Marsha) McCarty; sister in law, Robin Hardy; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Muriel McCarty; fathers: Charlie McCarty Sr. and Kenneth Freeland; husband, Kenneth Kellay; and brother, Tracy Freeland. Sandy's family will receive friends on Monday, April 26, 2021, 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home and on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Country Chapel United Methodist Church where her funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Pastor Rick Foster officiating. Private burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions to American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association will be appreciated.
