Charles's life began on December 11, 1934 at Lutheran Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was the son of Leland L. and Jane Adelaide (Whiteaker) Loy. Charles served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 until 1958 as an Air Policeman. After the military, he worked as a police officer for Junction City and was a carpenter and painter.
Charles enjoyed visiting with family and friends and good conversations.
His loving family includes his son Leland (Dana) Loy of Killeen, TX; grandchildren Cody Loy, Jessy Loy, Jessica Mizell, Aaron Wiggins and Cory Wiggins and his sister Jean Jamison of San Antonio, TX. Charles passed away on April 22, 2021 at Legacy of Herington.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kellie Wiggins, grandson Nicholas Searles and an infant twin brother.
His family will gather with friends on Friday June 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery at Fort Riley for his graveside service. Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Herington is serving the family. Memorial contributions in Charles name may be directed to Leland Loy in care of the funeral home.
