Carolyn C. McCoy, 91, of Springfield, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 14, 2021. She was born January 8, 1930 to Claude and Mildred (Johnson) Appling in Buford, Georgia.

In 1947, she was married to William E. McCoy in Springfield. They were blessed with three sons, Keith (Krystal) of Bridgeville, Delaware, Dr. Gary (Sherry) of Jacksonville, Florida and Chris (Jennifer) of Springfield; ten grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Rev. Robert Appling of Dover, Delaware and Mike Hyer of Dunnville, Kentucky; two sisters, Helen Schen of Reading, Pennsylvania and Patti Neel of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 63 years.

Carolyn was a member of High St. and First Church of the Nazarene. She loved her church and served many years as a Sunday school teacher, missionary department, church board member, and a member of the choir.

She loved her flower garden and cooking, especially when her family gathered. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Keith Sarver presiding.
