"Penrawl" James Hoyt Cavender, age 92, of Copperhill, TN passed away at his home on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Hoyt was born on July 25, 1928 in Turtletown, TN to the late B.H. Cavender and Emma Hughes Cavender. He worked as a miner for the Tennessee Copper Company for 38 years, and also, worked for the City of Ducktown until his retirement. Hoyt was an avid coonhunter and gardener, and he was known as a hard worker with the nickname "Honest Hoyt". He was of the Baptist faith. Hoyt is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jewel Cole Cavender; and daughter, Janice Bennett.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery.
