Mrs. Laura Nell (Karnes) Morris, resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Unity Health-White County Medical Center in Searcy at the age of 88. Laura was born in Russellville on May 26, 1932, the daughter of W.T. "Bill" and Marie (Simmons) Karnes.

Mrs. Morris was a 1950 graduate of Vanndale High School, and worked 15 years at Halstead prior to her retirement. Laura enjoyed quilting, crafts, gardening, and canning. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Laura was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Wayne Morris; her parents; a son, Gary Morris; a brother, J.B. Karnes; and a sister, Ellen Hess.

She is survived by a son, Billy Morris of Cherry Valley; a daughter, Terry Andrews of Melbourne, Florida; two brothers, Thomas Karnes of Brandon, Mississippi, and Robert Karnes of Cherry Valley; three sisters, Janice Marrow of Corinth, Mississippi, Margaret Slocum of Rowlett, Texas, and Peggy Cartillar of Tilton; five grandchildren, Penny Andrews, Krystle Andrews, Eric Morris, Brad Morris and wife, Jessie, and Kristy Morris; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Johnson Cemetery near Fair Oaks with Bro. Clint Haynes officiating. No visitation is planned.

Donations may be made to the Cherry Valley Food Pantry.
