Miss Harriet Clarke
Following a lengthy illness, Miss Harriet Clarke entered into rest at the Molina Rest Home, Almonte on June 6th in her 81st year. Hattie as she was known to her friends was the last surviving member of the family of the late David Clarke and his wife Margaret Munro. She spent the greater part of her life teaching school in these parts and in Alberta. Two brothers, Hugh of Alberta and Bert of Ottawa and one sister Elizabeth, Mrs Charlie Comba of Toronto predeceased her. The funeral service, which was largely attended at the Comba Funeral Home, was conducted by Rev F.C. Gerard of the Almonte United Church, with interment in the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Relatives attended from Ottawa and Toronto and surrounding district. The pallbearers were Bob Munro, Alex Munro, Ernie Foster, Guy Yuill, Archie Barr and O. Murray.
