Vanessa Monique Jackson Lewis, 42, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 28, 2021. She was born October 14, 1978 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of James Nobel and Carole A. (Trahan-Word) Jackson. She was the fourth eldest of six children and the twin sister of Caroressa Jackson. They shared many wonderful times together.

Vanessa graduated from Rialto High School in 1997 and worked in the hotel/travel industry. She also provided home health care to those in need. Vanessa had a passion for art and loved to draw and color in her free time.

Vanessa met and married the love of her life October 30, 2007. He survives. Also surviving are children, , siblings, five nieces, one nephew, a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her father, James N. Jackson, her mother, Carol A. Trahan-Word and her sister, Consuella Trahan.

A Celebration of Vanessa's Life will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Open Arms Outreach Ministries, 2401 SE 11th St., Topeka, Kansas 66607. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
