Daniel Alexander Eadie, 62, of Crimora, formerly of Gloria Place in Staunton, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at Augusta Medical Center after an illness of two years.

He was born Sept. 29, 1945, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Ann Long of Nashville, Tenn., and the late Riley Daniel Eadie. The family has made their home in this area for 14 years.

Dan was a host at Kathy's Restaurant in Staunton for 10 years prior to his illness. He was a Christian and was the family "Jeopardy! Champion."

A graduate of Washington and Lee University, he was a member of its Army ROTC and Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He served in Vietnam as an Army first lieutenant in the transportation corps. Dan was a member of Staunton VFW Post 2216.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Annette J. Eadie (nee James); they were married in Baltimore in 1970. Also surviving are three daughters, Catherine Louise Eadie Howard and her husband, Joseph G. Howard, of Bridgewater, Rachel Ann Eadie Williams and her husband, Troy A. Williams, of Waynesboro and Cassandra Margaret Eadie of Staunton; two granddaughters, Lorraine Francis and Caroline Alexandra Morales; and his great-granddaughter, Karmen Elise Morales.

The family will receive family and friends from 7 to 9 p. m. today, Nov. 1, 2007, at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home at 961 Goose Creek Road in Fishersville, (540) 932-3600.

A private family graveside service will be conducted Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Donald M. Warrick Jr. officiating. Military honors will be rendered by Staunton VFW Post 2216.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Disabled American Veterans, DAV Memorial Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
