[WIFE DISAPPEARED!]
Decree Nisi Granted
Edward Russell Murray Baker, of Gootchie, labourer, was yesterday granted a decree nisi for the dissolution of his marriage with Jean Melda Baker, on the ground of desertion. The case was heard in the Supreme Court before his Honour Mr. Justice Webb.
Mr. B. H. Matthews (instructed by Messrs. Nicol Robinson and Fox, town agents for Mr. F. B. Sykes, Gympie) appeared for the plaintiff. The action was not defended.
The plaintiff said he was married on June 8, 1927, and he and his wife went to live at Zillmere. After they had been there a few days a tiff occurred, but they made it up, and next morning the defendant kissed him good-bye. When he came home from work on June 16, 1927, his wife had gone. He gave her no cause for going, and had tried his hardest to find her.
