Graveside services for Lillie Jones,76, of Lufkin will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday February 21, 2021, in the Davis Memorial Garden. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Jones was born on September 7, 1944, in Lufkin died Sunday, February 7, 2021, in Lufkin.
We lost a treasure when our beautiful wife and mother ascended to rest in the arms of our Lord and Savior. She was preceded by her father Curtis Malone, mother Hazel Holman, her beloved daughter Barbara "Teenie" Jones, her very special niece Cashena "Precious" Rhodes, along with her siblings, Curtis Faye Malone, Jerry Malone, Lewis Malone, Margaret Bland, and Lela Kirksey.
Tip was a powerful force who lived almost 61 years with the love of her life, her best friend, biggest supporter, and husband, Therman Jones Sr. To their union four children were born, Barbara Jones, Felicia Turner, Wesley Jones, and Therman Jones Jr. They raised their children with strong faith-based values and deliberate guidance, she was also a strong supporter of all her children's activities.
Tip began her relationship with God at an early age that continued throughout her life. She was an active member of Goodwill Baptist Church for over 50 years as a Sunday School Teacher, President of the Junior Mission, an Usher, and a Deaconess. She worked for the Texas A&M ENP Program, serving Lufkin communities, and continued her career as the Lufkin Independent School District Special Services Librarian until her retirement. She enjoyed taking care of others. When elders in her church family or the community needed a ride, help with housekeeping, a homemade sweet treat, or a friend to visit with, she was there for them.
Tip loved to travel, read, cook, and spend time with her family. She was the center of the family, making holidays and gatherings special with her amazing meals and loving support. She was thoughtful and considered our favorites when we visited, or she came to visit us.
She leaves behind to carry on her legacy, her loving husband, Therman Sr., her kids, Felicia, Wesley, Therman Jr. (Ceatharic "Cici"), and Angie, grandkids, Dominick, Amy, Kassie, Justin, Jeremy, Chris, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
