Freda A. Smith, 89, Box Elder, SD went to her forever home on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Freda was born on May 13, 1931 in Iona, SD to Joel and Anna King. She was born into a family of thirteen brothers and sisters.

She married William C. Smith in 1949 at Butte, MT. To this union they had 5 children: Yvonne, Charlotte, Terry, Dale and Mary.

Throughout life Freda was a strong independent woman who was deeply devoted to family, anyone could depend on her. She was very social; she could sit and visit with anyone and easily make lifelong friends.

Freda will be greatly missed.

Freda is survived by her four children, Yvonne Ziolkowski, Charlotte Jennings, Dale (Pam) Smith all of Rapid City, SD, Terry Buchholz of Dickinson, ND; ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; who all deeply love her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Mary; and all thirteen brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be Monday, April 26, 2021 from 10:00-11:00am at Kirk Funeral Home. Private family burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD. A family and friends' luncheon will be held at the Moose Lodge from 11:00-3:30pm.
