Russell was born on January 17, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Sperry High School. He worked as a roughneck on oil wells, however his favorite side adventure was panning for gold in Colorado, and fishing with family and friends. After retirement, he spent time with family and friends. He always graciously opened his home to families and helped anyone in need.
Russell is survived by his loving children, Jennifer and her husband, Jeromy of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Dylan Lee and his wife, Savannah of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and Tamara McFerrin and her husband, Robert of Binger, Oklahoma. He was very proud to have six grandchildren, Jade Cave, Kaleb Cave, Jacob Crouch, Aleeah Lee, Jalyn Neeley, and Braden McFerrin. Russell's surviving siblings are Ronnie Lee and his wife, Carole, of Shamrock, Oklahoma, Dennis Lee of Grove, Oklahoma, and Bonita Barber and her husband, Gary of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and he has many nephews and nieces, and a host of friends.
