SUNRISE, FL Steve D. Shytle, 69, formerly of York died June 20, 2009, in Sunrise Fla. He was the husband of Patricia (Duke) Shytle. They were married 44 years. Steve was born on February 6, 1940, in Forest City, N.C., son of the late William R. and Chloe L. (Shay) Shytle. He worked for many years at the Collinsville Discount Center in Brogue and also for Rentzel Auctioneers in Manchester. Prior to moving to Florida in 1985 he was a driver for MasonDixon Truck Lines. He retired from Coastal Marketing and Fuels in 1999. He is also survived by four daughters, Justine Green, wife of David, of Largo, Fla., Abby Andres, wife of William, of Largo, Fla., Cynthia Froelich, wife of Todd, of New Cumberland, and Susan (Lahr) Shytle of York; three sons, Steve Shytle II, husband of Jennifer of Viera, Fla., Edward Shytle, husband of Natalie of Eagleville, and Brian Shytle, husband of Kimberly, of Coral Springs, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, Ryan, William, Taylor, Autumn, Alexei, Felicia, Vikki, Stephanie, Sarah, Sammie, Mia, Tripp, and Jake; three great-grandsons, Jeremias, Nathen, and Joseph; one great-granddaughter, Joseleena; four brothers, Don Shytle, husband of Helene, of Edmond, Okla., George Pfautz of Kingsland, Ga., Jerry Pfautz, husband of Suzanne, of Springfield, Mont., and Stanley Pfautz, husband of Lesha, of Land of Lakes, Fla.; a sister, Judy Jacoby of Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews. The viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave. The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. Burial will be private. Steve will be remembered for his sharp wit, hearty laughter, and telling things like they were. He always brought a smile to everyone's face and greeted friends and loved ones with warmth and open arms.
