Howard Eugene Davis was born on October 19, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan to Emiline Tibbils and Dee Collins Davis.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific theater as Aviation Machinist Mate-Instrument First Class from 1/10/42 until 11/13/45 when he was Honorably Discharged. He earned a Good Conduct Medal, Air Crewman Wings, and a Victory Medal.  He worked for IBM for thirty-plus years.  He rose in the ranks from a typewriter repairman to installing some of the first computer systems in Houston.  When he retired, his title was Service Planning Representative.  Howard had a lust for life, which he shared with everyone he met. He had a passion for sailing his 39-foot sloop, Illusion II off of Florida's beautiful shores. While in Florida, he helped build the Clearwater Marine Science Center, a place for rehabilitation of injured marine life. He was an avid bridge player, member of the American Legion, and a Mason. When he moved to Houston, he became an Ambassador for Atria, Senior Living in Cinco Ranch, which gave him the opportunity to enjoy more people and make more friends. He was a member of Living Word Lutheran Church.
