Pontocola – Mrs. Ruby Loyce Mask West, age 87, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at North MS Medical Center, Gilmore in Amory.  A lifelong resident of the Pontocola community, she was born January 29, 1931, one of sixteen children born to the union of Farris and Minnie Boxx Mask.  She was a graduate of Pontocola High School and married Clifford Levert West in 1957.  She was a seamstress employed by Futorian Furniture Manufacturing for many years as well as Action Industries/Lane where she was the first lady to be hired as "floor lady/supervisor".  Ruby was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  She was a quiet but independent soul and enjoyed cooking, especially sweets, collecting recipes, and gardening.

A celebration of her life and home-going will be at 11 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2019 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with her son, Bro. Jimmy Tackett and Bro. Jimmy Bryan officiating.  Private burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery.  Visitation will be today (Friday) from 4 PM – 7 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to service time.

Survivors include her two sons, Jimmy Tackett (Susan) of Okolona and Larry Tackett (Margaret) of Troy; one daughter, Annette Hendrix of Pontocola; one sister-in-law, Jane Mask of Shannon; five grandsons, 18 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and 15 siblings.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Tackett, Jason Stegall, Clay Stegall, Tim Tackett, Levi Tackett, Cooper Tackett, and Nathan Tackett.

Memorials may be sent to Verona First Pentecostal Church, 1326 Palmetto Road, Verona, MS  38801.  Condolences to the family may be posted at hollandfuneraldirectors.com.  The service may be viewed at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Livestreaming at 11 AM Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 and for 60 days thereafter.
