Fay was born on May 18, 1943 in Mount Airy, NC. She graduated from Great Bridge High School in 1962. She married her husband Andrew Louis Becker of 58 years during his time in the Navy on March 31, 1962. She worked many jobs in her youth but was most devoted to her passion of serving as a volunteer firefighter and EMT at Chatham Fire Department for 20 years. Fay enjoyed being involved in her community and was active in the PTO, The Society for Handicapped Children, and also a sponsor for the Miracle League of NE Ohio, a special needs baseball league. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lastly, Fay and Andrew looked forward to visiting her family in Florida in their camper every spring. She had a love for cooking and decorating for the holidays.
She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Louis Becker, twin sister Kay Mason, sisters Carolyn Cohen, Mildred Grisbach and Mary Darden. She is survived by her daughter Sherri Becker of Wadsworth, son Louis (Lona) Becker of Medina, and daughter Sandra (Vince) Antenucci of Streetsboro; 7 grandchildren Clint (Noreen) Fauss, Jessica (Matthew) Burke, Anthony Valentino, Morgan Morrow, Mackenzie Morrow, Dean Antenucci, and Lauren (Dino) Valentino; and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Harriet Spruill and Karaan Watson and numerous nieces and nephews. In the past year, she was also able to meet family in Mount Airy, NC-the Youngers- through ancestry.com.
The family will celebrate her life from 4-7:00 pm, on Friday, April 23 at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N Court St, Medina, Ohio. A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday followed by a burial at Chatham Cemetery. The family is asking in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Miracle League of NE Ohio, PO Box 1966, Medina, OH 44258.
