Mr. Benoit lived most of his life in Carencro. He had been employed at Doris Bearbe at Evangeline Gas Station in Lafayette for 26 years. Mr. Benoit was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas James Benoit and his wife, Christine, of Lafayette and Jason Joseph Benoit and his wife, Michelle, of Duson; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Benoit Dugas and her husband, Kyle, of Carencro; eight grandchildren, Trey, Blake, Chase, Alex, Lance, Lauren, Morgan, Cullen; one step-grandchild, Kylee; one sister, Anna Mae Gaspard of Crowley; and two sisters-in-law, Stuna Benoit and Jean Benoit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Benoit and the former Loida Menard, both natives of Cankton; four brothers, Oris Benoit, Voorhies Benoit, Joseph Benoit, and Raymond Benoit; and one sister, Eva Mae Burleigh.
