Christine "Chris" Marie Lynn, 66, of La Marque, Texas, passed away on April 18, 2021. She was born to parents Bernice Hanchey and Robert Billman, on August 13, 1954 in Sandusky, Ohio.
Christine worked as an Inspector for 30 years on the railroad. She was one of the first female car knockers for the railroad. Holding numerous safety awards. Then after 30 years of service, she retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 2008.
She enjoyed Baking, gardening, fishing, shopping, helping those in need, including our veterans, recently got into iron work with her husband, Jimmy. Prior to joining the Railroad, she was a cosmetologist.
Christine met James "Jimmy" Lynn in 2009. They were married on June 22, 2019 in La Marque, Texas.
Christine is survived by husband, James "Jimmy" Lynn. She was so proud of her daughters, Renee (Kenny) Gray, Elizabeth, and Victoria, and granddaughters, Rian, Maddison, and Emily; siblings, Robert (Paulette) Billman, Shirley (Steve) Hohler, Thomas (Lisa) Billman, and Sheri (Eric) Geffert, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by mother and father, Robert and Bernice Billman.
The family has entrusted Emken-Linton Funeral Home with the arrangements. A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2021. Visitation will be an hour prior from 3:00 p.m. at 5100 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Texas City, Texas, 77591. Doug McBrayer will officiate the ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DreamFlights.org, an organization that provides veterans free flights on Boeing Steerman Bi-Wing Aircraft. Her daughter, Victoria, works closely with this organization to continue her mother's legacy.
