Sharon Stevens Barton, age 89, passed away April 18, 2021. She received a Master's Degree in Juvenile Justice from the University of Southern Mississippi. She served as Youth Court Counselor in George County for many years. After retirement, she and her husband worked for the U.S. Corps of Engineers. She greatly enjoyed camping, crocheting and spending time with her dog, Millie.
She is preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Barton; parents, Orrin C. and Eva Stevens.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Melanie (Glenn) Craft, Leslie Bonfiglio, Holly (Joe) Harris, Julie (David) Parnis and Laurie (Eddie) Stout; grandchildren, Kathy Eubanks, Robin Brown, Julie Ashley, Melinda Smith, Courtney Manuel, Whitney Harris, Kasey Harris, Sophie Parnis, Nicole Parnis, Adam Stout, Bailey Beck and Lindsey Stout; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Orrin C. (Mary Frances) Stevens, Jr.; nephew, Orrin C. Stevens, III; other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Sharon Barton will be Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Barton Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will follow in the church sanctuary beginning at 12:00 PM with Bro. John Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Barton Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dixie Adoptables at the Lucedale Animal Shelter, 234-A Beaver Dam Road, Lucedale, MS 39452.
