Obituary for Joyce Mae (McMillen) Harrison
Joyce Mae (McMillen) Harrison, age 78, of Centerville, Iowa and formerly of Lovilia passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at UnityPoint Hospice Taylor House in Des Moines, Iowa.

Joyce was born on February 19, 1943 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Evelyn (Zumwalt) McMillen. She grew up in the Lovilia and Albia area and attended Albia High School.

On July 2, 1972, Joyce was united in marriage to James Harrison in Unionville, Missouri. Joyce worked in several occupations throughout her life, including Romar Auto Parts, V.A. Hospital, and Monroe County Hospital. Together Joyce and James owned and operated Harrison's Lounge in Bussey, Triple J Café in Lovilia and later Memory Lane and Village Peddler in Centerville.

Joyce had a passion for antique dealing and quiltmaking and handmade over 700 quilts. She enjoyed giving them to family and friends.

Those left to cherish Joyce's memory include her children, Robert (Connie) Kelly of Bussey, Deborah Kelly of Des Moines, Dennis Kelly of Chariton and John (Debbie) Kelly of Knoxville; sister, Delores Sullivan of Albia and brother, Jess McMillen of Lovilia; 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Harrison; son, Kerry Kelly; parents, Arthur and Evelyn McMillen; brother, Tom McMillen; sister, Virginia Weldon; half-brother, Jack McMillen; and half-sister, Tiny.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Joyce's memory to her family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with Joyce's family present to greet friends and relatives. Following visitation, graveside services will be held at the Hamilton Cemetery in Hamilton, Iowa.

The Winfield Funeral Home is assisting her family with services.
