Roy Lee Roberts, Sr. of Krebs died Saturday, April 17, 2021 at his residence.
A graveside memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Ashland Cemetery officiated by Rev. Brent Davis. Inurnment will follow. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Housley and Nicky Short.
Roy was born to L.D and Alice Leanna (Stubblefield) Roberts on June 30, 1949 in McAlester. He grew up in Ashland and graduated from Kiowa High School. He attended OSU Tech in Okmulgee.
Roy worked pipelining and for the railroad. He retired in 2015 from the City of Krebs where he worked as a mechanic.
Roy married Rose M. (Shipman) Wood in 1992 in Krebs.
Roy like working on racing cars and enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed being with his friends at the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.D: and Alice Roberts, 1 grandson, and 1 daughter-in-law.
Roy is survived by his wife: Rose of the home; son: Roy Lee Roberts, Jr. of Krebs; daughter: Cassie Kerns of Oklahoma City; stepson: Lesley Wood of Krebs; stepdaughters: Jerrie Wood and Billie Williamson of McAlester, Bobbie Wood of McAlester, Donna Wood of Missouri; brothers: Larry Don Roberts, James Andy Roberts, both of Ashland; 32 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
