Funeral services for Mr. Russell Edward Evans will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, with Reverend Joey Ducote officiating. Interment will follow in Turkey Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Evans, 71, of Bunkie, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at his residence.
He was retired from the New Orleans Police Department after twenty-five years of service. He was self-employed and owned and operated a tow truck service company, Protos Inc., in the New Orleans area. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Odette Gary Evans and one brother, Leon Evans.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include one son, Joey Evans, of Bunkie and two brothers, Charles Evans and Leo Evans.
A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
