Calvin J "Jerry" Jones, 71, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at his home. He was born on Friday, June 24,1949, in Randolph County, to the late Edgar "Ed" and Gladys Fuller Jones.
Jerry was a loving family man who spent a lifetime teaching those with the patience to learn everything a man should know.
Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife of 36 years, Kathleen Kay Montgomery Jones, as well as his parents, Edgar "Ed" and Gladys Fuller Jones; brothers Frank Curlie, George "Jack", William Lloyd "Bill", James, Henry, Willard "Dub", and Junior Jones; sisters, Ellen and Dorothy Sue Jones, and Christine "Teener" Melvin.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Violet Butler Jones of the home; five daughters, Kathern Marie (Jason) Neidecker of Slidell, LA, Kate Elizabeth (Travis) Berry of Pocahontas, Sherry and Kim Greene of Williford, and Patty Greene Kremer of Miles City, Montana; and a son, Calvin J (Darla) Jones II of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kassidy Neidecker of Pocahontas, Willa and Samuel Berry of Pocahontas, Melanie, Colton, and Emma Jones of Pocahontas, Rebekah Manger of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Cortney Lane, John and Jakob Zeiger of Williford, Drake Ritter of Jonesboro, Megan Anderson, and Jarrett Kremer of Montana; two great grandchildren, Brexley and Nataley Anderson of Montana; brothers, Harold Cotton Jones, of Reyno and Ralph Jr Jones, of Morrilton; sister, Barbara Jean Jones, of Pocahontas; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
He also leaves behind his faithful companion, Patches.
All services will be held in the chapel of Hope Gardens funeral home on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Jerry's funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 12:00 pm, with Gerald Fears officiating. Jerry will be laid to rest at Sharum Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Spencer and Landon Reed, Matt and Josh Rice, Jonathon McClain, and Erik Manger. Honorary pallbearers are Allen "Blue" VanWinkle and Bob Waymon
