Jackson, Derek 3/31/1989 - 7/4/2017 Gobles Age 28, died on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 due to a watercraft accident. He was born on March 31, 1989 in Chicago, IL the son of Derek Cleveland and Chiquita Jackson and grew up in the Allegan and Gobles area. Derek graduated from Gobles High School in 2007 and then went on to play football at Albion College where he was a standout outside linebacker and Captain of the football team. On April 11, 2015 he married the love of his life, Madeleine Doyle and together they raised their daughter Vivian Grace with love and affection. Derek will be well remembered for his love of family, his magnetic personality, his infectious smile and his ability to relate to people. Members of his family include his wife, Madeleine ""Noonie"" Jackson; his 3 year old daughter, Vivian Grace and their expected daughter, Charlotte Connor. Other members of his family include his parents Derek and Chiquita Cleveland; 4 brothers: Alan Jackson, Dustin (Jen) Jackson, Blake Jackson and Zelig Cleveland; 5 nieces and nephews: Addy, Austin, Eliza, Aya and Danielle; father and mother in-law, Terry and Deb Doyle; and 5 brothers and sisters in-law: Rachel (Josh) Keeley, Quinn (Paige) Doyle, Colin Doyle, Ellen Doyle and Joe Doyle. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Betzler & Thompson Life Story Funeral Home, 60900 M-40; Paw Paw (657-3870). Services will be held on Monday at 11 am at Gobles High School. Burial will take place in Robinson Cemetery.
