Emma Lou Alford, 83, of Carroll County, MS, died Monday, April 19, 2021 at Country Meadow Personal Care Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, at New Hope Cemetery in Carroll County, MS, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS. Rev. Larry Edwards will officiate.

Mrs. Alford was born December 25, 1937 in Carroll County, MS, to Elonzo Lee Dunn, Sr. and Henrietta Holeman Dunn. She was a member of New Hope Christian Church. She was a wonderful cook and everyone enjoyed her caramel cakes. She loved spending time with her family, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dalton Alford, sister, Mary Ann Colvin, brothers, Charlie Henry Dunn, and Sam Dunn, son-in-law, Johnny Farrish, and her parents.

She is survived by her daughters, Nita Farrish of Carroll County, MS, Rita Shaw and husband Gil of Carrollton, MS, and Ann Whitfield and husband Terry of Carroll County, MS; four grandchildren, Alisha Farrish, Code Whitfield and wife Angelina, Jamey Shaw and wife Suzanne, and Michelle Skutley and husband Brian; step-grandchildren, Denise Pyron and husband Patrick, and Chris Shaw and wife Suzanne; five great grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, and special nephew, Wayne Alford and wife Nancy.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Rebecca and Danny Edwards, and the Country Meadow Personal Care Home staff for the excellent care they gave Mrs. Alford.
