SHEILA'S OBITUARY
Sheila Mae Dixon

Sheila Mae Dixon, dearly loved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the age of 58. She was born in New Orleans on May 1st, 1962, the ninth of ten children born to the union of Johnnie and Emma Lee (Roach) Dixon. Shelia was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Dixon, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her biological daughter, Emily Faith Lucien; her mother, Emma Lee Dixon and nine siblings: Rogers M. Kates, Johnnie Dixon, Jr. (Janet), Rosemary Dixon, Emma Kendrick (Leroy), Joann Dixon, Kathleen Funderburk (Stephen), Jerry Dixon (Patricia), Patricia Dixon and Jeraldine Dixon. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and extended relatives. Sheila had a love for all children, but especially cherished her bond with Destiny Robinson Williams (Shane) and Nicole Powell Lee (Devine), who knew her affectionately as "mom." She also treasured her role as "nanna" to their children: Joseph Robinson, Sage Williams and Aiden Lee. Sheila accepted Christ at an early age at Trinity United Methodist Church on Valence and Chestnut Streets. Baptized many times, she treasured her membership at First Emmanuel Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Charles J. Southall, III and Little Mount AME Church in Utica, MS. Sheila was an entrepreneur, owning many successful businesses including Mermaid Cleaning Services, Inc., JC Building Maintenance, Enhanced Destiny Services (20yrs), and Sheila M. Dixon & Associates Property Management. Sheila was passionate about mentoring. She thought she knew it all anyway (her words). Through her efforts, hundreds of young women's lives were transformed. She remained a lifelong learner through her participation with Landmark Education and Landmark Worldwide. Shelia will be sadly and deeply missed by her many friends, EDS staff, Landmark colleagues, mentees and associates.
