Laurie Maureen Watson passed away peacefully at the Crestview Lodge on March 2, 2020 at the age of 81.

Laurie was born March 22, 1938 to Robert (Bob) and Eugene (Gene) Doherty. Laurie had three brothers George, Ev and Ken.

Laurie had several aunts which were nurses, which sparked her interest in this field. She completed her training at The General Hospital in Calgary. After graduation, she came to Pincher Creek with her good friend Carol (Fergeson).

In the fall of 1959 she met Ted. They were married in April 1960 and raised a family. She took great joy in following her kids to all of their sporting events helping out however she could. Nursing was very important to her. She enjoyed the challenge of the Emergency Room. Laurie became the head of the Operating Room until she retired. Laurie loved to travel and she and Ted went to Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia and spent time in Arizona for many winters.

Laurie was pre-deceased by her loving husband Ted, parents Bob and Gene, brother-in-laws Pat, Mick, Reg and father and mother-in-law Hugh and Betty. Laurie is survived by her children Hugh, Shannon (Georges), Dan, Scott (Katie), eight grandchildren and one great grandchild, brothers George, Ev, Ken, bother-in-law Phil and sister-in-law Ruth. She had a good life.
