NEW MADRID - Elvine Camille Nelson Blankenship, 88, died May 31, 2006, at Gideon Care Center in Gideon. Born Sept. 1, 1917, in New Madrid County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond W. and Alice E. Hodges Nelson. In Piggott, Ark., she married James Lynn Blankenship, who preceded her in death in 1990. Two sons, four brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter also preceded her in death. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, James "Jick" R. and Paula Blankenship of Branson; one daughter and son-in-law, Emma and Ruth Condy of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Betty Nelson Smith of New Madrid, Marie Myers of Sikeston and Mary Chambliss Charlton of Kennett; eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mounds Park Cemetery, where burial will follow.
