Dennis Edward Scott was born September 5, 1953 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Jimmy E. and Lucille (Phillips) Scott. He received his education from Kearney High School, graduating with the class of 1971.
Dennis worked for Howland Manufacturing as a metal spinner. It was there where he met Denise Vannier. The couple was married October 26, 1984 in Columbus, NE. While in Columbus, Dennis worked for Island Supply and Welding. They later moved to Grinnell, IA where he worked 21 years for Donaldson Corporation Inc. until his retirement.
Dennis was a member of First Lutheran Church in Kearney as well as a member of the Eagle's. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and boating.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Denise Scott of Kearney; nieces and nephews, Amber (Paul) Tygensen, Tim (Sharlene) Roth, Nicholas (Nicole) Roth, Ed Schriner, Steve Schriner, James Scott and Jonathan Scott; several great nieces and nephews; as well as a sister-in-law in Omaha, NE and her family.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Don Scott; sister, Connie Schriner; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Roth; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elnor and Kenneth Vannier.
