On Sunday, April 11, 2021, Alma Gertrude (Henley) Huff, passed away peacefully at the age of 97.
Alma was born June 5, 1923 in Eugene, MO to Mason Otto Henley and Sophia Marie (Kubli) Henley. After growing up on the family farm, with her older sister Helen and younger brother James, she graduated from Gageville in 1942. She immediately came to Kansas City by train where she joined a sorority in business school before working as a crucial Keypunch Operator at the Pratt & Whitney Complex during World War II. She continued on as an Operator for the Hall Brothers at Hallmark and at Kansas City Power & Light. In her leisure time she enjoyed taking the streetcar on outings downtown, going dancing, and spending time with friends.

On October 27, 1950 she married Gilbert Junior Huff. They raised two daughters, Janice and Lynn. She enjoyed a modest life as a loving wife and mother, volunteering at school, church, and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed the outdoors, tending the flower garden, bird watching, reading, and the company of loved ones. Alma will be remembered for her humility, gentle character, bareback shotgun skills, keen sweet tooth, and warm laugh.

Alma was preceded in death by her father Mason, her mother Sophia, her husband Gilbert, her sister Helen, her brother James, half-sister Emma, half-brothers Ray and Carl, and granddaughter Andrea. She is survived by her two children Janice (Huff) Beall and Lynn (Huff) Eaton, grandchildren Amy Aliff Valdez, Paul Eaton, Jeffrey Eaton, Daniel Eaton, and great grandsons Michael Aliff, Soren Eaton, and Henrik Eaton. Services will be private but flowers and condolences may be sent to Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown, MO 64133
