Marie Watkins formerly of Rheas Mill, Texas passed away June 15, 2013 at the age of 91. She was born February 16, 1922 to Lee and Sadie (Huddleston) Davis in McKinney, Texas. In 1940 married "Tom" Watkins in Durant, Oklahoma. Marie was a homemaker and an avid gardener.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Alice Burnett and husband Roland of Capitan, New Mexico; son, Tommy Lee Watkins of Ravenna, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Watkins and Misti Smith; great-grandchild, Baily Moore; sister, Wanda Clore of McKinney, Texas and several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Watkins; parents, Lee and Sadie Davis; brothers, Carl Davis, Henry Davis and Robert Davis; sister, Lola Dean and daughter-in-law Lorie Watkins.
A funeral service will held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church, 270 Country Club Road, Fairview, Texas 75069. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be James Davis, Roger Davis, Ronnie Vest, Donald Vest, Michael Watkins and Punk Carter.
